GREGG ALLMAN: Funeral Is Private, But...

Though Gregg Allman's funeral and burial in Macon, Georgia this Saturday is a private affair, his manager Michael Lehman is urging fans to line the mile-long procession route from Snow’s Memorial Chapel to Rose Hill Cemetery.

Lehman tells Macon's paper, The Telegraph, "The family is hoping to keep [the service] between 75 and 100 people,” and adds that there is a dress code -- "no suits" -- per Gregg's request. Instead, folks are encouraged to wear jeans and, at the very dressiest, sports coats.

Gregg will be buried next to his brother Duane, who was killed in a motorcycle accident in Macon in 1971, and Allman Brothers Band bassist Berry Oakley, who was also killed in a motorcycle accident in Macon in 1972. The Brothers were based there, as Macon was home to their record label, Capricorn.
