The Grateful Dead are getting the comic book treatment. They've partnered with Z2 Comics to create a graphic novel.
Grateful Dead Originse examines the formation of the band, which saw them go from The Warlocks to creating their own sound and culture.
It will be out early next year in a softcover standard edition, and in a deluxe hardcover coffee table collectors edition.
The standard edition will feature an exclusive download of Dead music from their early years, and the deluxe version edition will contain prints autographed by the comic creators, along with a selection of unreleased Dead music from the era on vinyl.
